Tail Town Cats set sail on our most recent community-based art show: basking in the joy of traveling, exploration, and the dreamy nostalgia of love letters, handwritten correspondence, and snail mail.
Artists were encouraged to dive into themes of post-cards, travel brochures, sight-seeing destinations, tourism, love letters, pen-pals, summer camp, paradise, and lost connections. Naturally, pieces featured or were inspired by our favorite felines!

Megumi Inoue
Megumi is an artist and scientist based in Arcadia, CA. She grew up between Yokohama, Japan, and Arcadia.
Although a lifelong artist, she studied science, obtaining her B.S. at the University of Notre Dame and recently a PhD in Developmental Biology at the Institut de la Vision (Sorbonne University) in Paris, France.
After her PhD she rediscovered her love of painting furry critters in watercolor. Her works can be found @studiomegumi on Instagram.

Srimoyee Acharya is a LA-based, South Asian American artist. Her brand Srimoyee Handmade offers joyful animal and nature designs. Srimoyee is using her art to create a better world for furry and feathered friends.
As a BIPOC artist, Srimoyee uses her art to express herself as a first-generation South Asian American artist whose identity is rooted in nature and color.

Misa Doi
Misa Doi is a Los Angeles-based artist crafting a whimsical world of pun-filled delight—home to cat detectives like Hercule Purroit, Purrlock Holmes, and Nancy Mew, alongside purrmaids and surreal food-plant hybrids like bagel and pizza plants.
Working in both digital and acrylic on canvas, her art blends humor, heart, and the delightfully absurd.

Tatiana Orellana
Tatiana mixes illustration with graphic design, inspired by the art in games like Pokemon and childhood stories like Peter Rabbit. She likes to capture the whimsy and magic of what we see in the every day. She’s primarily a digital and sketchbook artist, painting is sometimes on the table if she feels like dealing with the clean up and inevitable stains.

Ellen Bae
Artist + Librarian: newly a puppy mom, forever a cat umma
Ellen Bae resides in the San Fernando Valley, CA.
She attended Cal State University Long Beach where she received a BFA Illustration degree. In addition to freelance illustration & design work, she has worked in art education programs in both public, private, and
non-profit art spaces. During that time, she created inclusive and adaptive arts programming for youth and adult artists. With a special interest in accessibility to information in public libraries and archives.

Elly Karipides
A Southern Californian native, Elly Karipides grew up influenced by animation and storybook art and cultivated a passion for whimsical, dream-like, and narrative illustration.Inspired by childhood daydreaming and doodling.
Elly's main themes are often fantasy based, including adorable cats, wistful girls, and pop culture fan-art. When not drawing or spending time with her husband and teenage son, her past times include building miniatures, playing D&D which consequently also means collecting an insane amount of dice, and of course, taking way too many photos of her two cats.
